What's Up Wednesday

It's the last Wednesday of March and I am linking up with Sheaffer Told Me To, The Larson Lingo, and Mix and Match Family (Shay loved Me Before You, too!) for this post.  Check them out too!!!

What we're eating this week...

Ham, ham, and more ham!
We had so much fun celebrating Easter this past weekend with some great friends.

I absolutely love ham, so when my friend Graham offered to order a ham, I said "Sure, ham's my jam!" Sorry, just couldn't resist.  It was yummy though.

Here's a good one for leftover ham (and for leftover pork tenderloin as well!)  We love Cuban Paninis, and they are a quick weeknight meal, or a no fuss weekend one.  You can read this post if you want to see how this one made my 15 Meals, 5 or Less list.

What I'm reminiscing about...

Although I am loving our staycation this Spring Break, I can't help but look back fondly on the memories we had visiting Atlanta last year.  We went to Stone Mountain, a Braves game, and visited Legoland (a small "mall" version), and our boys' favorite memories still come from this cool park which was walking distance from our hotel.  We loved being outside, kicking a soccer ball, throwing a frisbee, and just enjoying the sunshine and each other.

What I'm lovimg...

My boys.

What we've been up to...

Soccer, hockey, and basketball...where we've spent much of our time in the past few months.  Finally I have a soccer player!  Let's hope he sticks with it.

What I'm dreading...

Spring Break ending and my boys going back to school.  For real.

What I'm working on...

My new kitchen!  There are many reasons I am excited about moving (and honestly, many reasons I am not, including leaving all my sweet neighbors friends), but I am most excited about my new kitchen.  My friend Amber told me I needed an inspiration pic.

A girl can dream, right?  Erin of the Sunny Side Up Blog is one of my favorite bloggers.  You can see why I love her fashion sense here.  Check out her home tour.  It is amazing, and my favorite part is...you guessed it, her kitchen!  Anywho, I did get to have many of the things I love so much about her kitchen, including the white cabinetry, farmhouse sink, and hardwoods.  (Thanks, babe.)

What I'm excited about...

Our Spring Break List!  And the fact that we have already checked a lot of it off!  I still need to add a check to "play soccer at the field," "eat out," and "READ" because we did those three things today.  We all enjoyed some down time and read this afternoon and it was glorious!  Peace and quiet.  We usually make these lists and then forget about them!  This time, we aren't even halfway through the week and we are already halfway through our list.  Woo-hoo!

What I'm watching/reading...

I can't stay awake for TV these days, but I have been reading like crazy.  Now I'm reading The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd.  So interesting.  But have you read Me Before You?  It is sooooo good.  Hide in the laundry room to read kind of good.  You should read it before the movie comes out.  That's what my book club does.  We read the book, watch the movie, and then compare the two.  And honestly, for where we all are in life right now, with our kids' crazy schedules and husband's work calendars, that's our speed.

What I'm listening to...

The Steep Canyon Rangers and the Mixtape (iTunes radio).  We went to a Steep Canyon Rangers show a few weekends ago and it was a blast hanging out with good friends and staying up waaaay too late.  The bonus?  They are a super talented band.  Like, crazy talented.  We can't wait to go to another concert.  You can check out what we wore to the concert here. ;)  As for the Mixtape fascination, I was looking for something to listen to while I ran last week (my playlists got erased somehow), and stumbled upon this gem of a station.  Since then, I've been building my new running playlist with artists like Blondie and Guns and Roses.  Oldies but goodies.

What I'm wearing...

I finally found out what LulaRoe is all about.  And I do actually love it!  So comfy and easy to wear.  I was so torn about this skirt, but after playing around with some different options, I decided on this for Easter.  A few days before, I came across the blog, Not Dressed As Lamb, when I was checking out the links in The Pleated Poppy's What I Wore Wednesday link party.  Catherine's big thing is wearing what you want, because you like how it looks and because it makes you happy.  I took this to heart when I put this ensemble together.  And I felt great in it.

What I'm doing this weekend...

This one is from last fall, since I haven't taken many this season, but I love it so much.  This is what we'll be up to this weekend, and I could not be happier.  I have missed the ball field.

What I'm looking forward to next month...

My big fat 40th birthday!  Actually, I am looking more forward to the Spartan Race, and the fact that I'll be turning 40 while I run through the muck and mire!  So fun!!!

What else is new?

I've been challenged to make videos for the pet blog where I write (PetPartners).  It has stretched me so much to learn how to take a video, edit it, and add watermarks and links.  Here are links to the two videos I have made so far...

It's on my personal Spring Break List to make pill pockets using the recipe for Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Treats.  I'll let you know how it turns out.

What are you up to this fine Wednesday?
