Meal Planning Monday

Steak with Broccolini and Farro

My Parents magazine includes "What's for Dinner?", featuring five easy meals to make throughout
the week.  We have never been disappointed by their recipes.  A few weeks ago, I served this flank steak, and you should have heard the applause from my boys.  They were practically salivating onto the floor as it was cooking and I had to give Jonah most of my steak after he cleaned his plate and Camden's (our littlest guy is still not a huge fan of meat) and was still asking for more!  Yum!!!
Fish Tacos, fresh fruits and veggies

Coach Debbie's Garlic Shrimp

Sweet Barbecue Pork Sandwiches, carrot sticks and apple slices.

This is a combination of two recipes, born out of the desire NOT to have to run to the store.  I had two pork tenderloins in the fridge that I wanted to use, and I wanted to pop them in the crock pot.  Most of the recipes I read online said not to use pork tenderloin for pork barbecue (it apparently comes out dry), but I came across a recipe suggesting to poke holes into the tenderloin, allowing the liquid in the crock pot to be absorbed by the meat.  And it worked!  The pork was juicy and delicious, without all the fat that comes with a pork shoulder.

What's for dinner at your house?  What makes your kids salivate? :)
