Ranch Dressing
By: Pam Karkow, Stallings, North Carolina | Found in:Food and Drink, Clothing
It was impossible to convince my sons to put on a bib at mealtime, so I offered them old bandannas to wear instead. Now they can't wait to come to dinner dressed as cowboys, and I love that their clothes stay clean!

As I stood talking to Jonah's teacher, Mrs. Harris, feeling a little too aware of the fact that I was wearing an old tshirt, yoga pants (which also happened to be the pants I slept in) and crocs with socks, I realized I need to challenge myself to get back to blogging.  I was telling her how I had submitted an idea to Parents magazine, and it won.  She thought that was amazing, and I was reminded of how I used to do stuff like that, when I wasn't feeling like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off.  Then she asked about my blog, and I told her I did in fact have one, but when I checked just now I saw I haven't posted since September.  Time to get back in the swing of things.  (She also mentioned wanting to start one herself, and I know she would have FANTASTIC ideas to share, so I hope I can jump start her with this blog).

Anyway, the reason I feel like I need to get back to blogging is that I spend most of my day playing busy ball popper with Camden, cooking for my family, folding little and big boys clothes, and shuttling Jonah and Carson to various appointments and after school activities.  Don't get me wrong,  I LOVE all of those things, and am so incredibly happy to be able to do them, but I want something that is MINE.  And blogging is a place where I can tap into my creative side, and share things I feel are important.

I like order (although you may not believe me if you looked at my house right now) so I am going to challenge myself to post in an orderly way:

Monday: Meal Planning--I borrowed this idea from my friend Rachel Joyce, who has an awesome blog). I make her crock pot apple/pear sauce every other week.

Tuesday: This and That--Whatever's on my mind.

Wednesday: Why Wouldn't You?  I would love to jump on the bandwagon of "What I Wore Wednesday," but I feel a little too self conscious for that.  Maybe one day...

So, by Thursday I am usually done for the week and basically in survival mode to get to the weekend, and I feel like making it through Wednesday is a good start.  So, here goes.

Why Wouldn't You...

Get a Target Debit Card?
You get 5% off all your purchases.  It's like using coupons, only you don't have to remember to bring them to the store.  I buy diapers at Target.  A lot of times they run sales where if I buy two boxes I can get a $20 gift card to Target--basically $20 off my next trip!  The Target debit card draws from my bank account, so it is not like signing up for a new credit card.  All you need to do is fill out an application form and give them a voided check.  AND I get free shipping on ALL orders--there is not even a certain amount I have to spend.  Why wouldn't you?

  1. I am so glad that you're back in the blogging biz! And thanks for the shout-out. My goal is to have 3-4 posts a week. It keeps me accountable. I don't think it's necessary to post every day to blog--it's really too much in our time of life!!

  2. Thank you, Rachel! I look at your blog quite a bit!

  3. Great blog to get back into it! We were just talking the other day about having something that was just yours and this is something perfect for you!

  4. Thanks, Ems! Can't wait to blog with you. Maybe in a little while we can share the Monday meal planning?
